The island of Formentera is the smallest inhabited island in the Balearics (19 km long).

It is located just 2 nautical miles to the south of Ibiza, although the ports of Ibiza and La Savina (Formentera) are actually 12 miles apart.
While the island itself is small, the jagged coastline extends for 82 km, making it look much bigger.

This paradise can be reached by plane (in less than 2 hours) from major cities by flying to Ibiza and then taking a 25-minute ferry crossing or, alternatively, by ferry from various Spanish ports such as Barcelona, Valencia and Denia, most of which involve a stop off in Ibiza.
